An increasing number of British Asian couples are choosing to have Bollywood-inspired weddings, according to local media reports.
One wedding planner now has more than 100 lavish Asian weddings behind him after being roped into organising a friend's ceremony.
Ibrar Ahmed, 32, started Zinc Occasions last October and has already been inundated with calls from couples planning the best in Asian weddings.
In just one year he has employed more than 70 people and has an annual turnover of nearly £600,000, the Asian News reports.
He told the paper: "Zinc Occasions offers bespoke Indian weddings with sophisticated elegance and contemporary twist, there's nothing garish with my designs.
"I fell into this job by accident and love it so much it doesn't feel like work."
Mr Ahmed - a former recruitment consultant - tailors every last detail of the decor to the client's wishes and even checks the colour of the wedding dress to make sure it matches the colour scheme.
He has so far organised weddings with 180 guests and huge ceremonies with 2,500 guests.
On one occasion he had prepared a wedding for 700 guests, but had to adapt when 1,500 turned up.
He said: "Those are challenges I love. If there's a problem I have a trusted team to resolve it and I never panic."
