Eastenders stars to boycott Christmas party
All is not well on the set of Eastenders, as cast members have threatened to boycott this year's Christmas party.
The stars are in uproar over the announcement that they will have to pay extra for their partners to attend the office party this year.
Actors who are no longer part of the cast will also have to pay the £30 fee if they want to attend the Christmas party.
But the stars are angry about the plans. One source told Digital Spy: "It's mean to charge for our loved ones – completely bah humbug.
"We don't go anywhere fancy. It's usually just warm beer and karaoke."
But a spokesperson for the BBC1 soap said that the rules have been set in order to help tackle the broadcaster's financial difficulties.
The spokesperson said: "We wouldn't pay for partners out of licence fee-payers' cash."
