France's former first lady remarries

The former first lady of France has tied the knot with her third husband, five months after divorcing French president Nicolas Sarkozy.

Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz married events planner Richard Attias in a lavish ceremony at the weekend in a panoramic suite at the Rockefeller Center in New York.

The latest nuptials come just seven weeks after her former husband married former supermodel Carla Bruni following a very public whirlwind romance.

Moroccan-born Ciganer-Albeniz left Sarkozy in 2005, only to return to his side in the build up to the presidential elections last year.

Just months after the president was elected, however, the relationship broke down and the pair divorced in October.

Details of the former first lady's engagement to multi-millionaire Attias were leaked earlier this month when the fashion house Versace revealed it had been commissioned to dress the couple.

The French media reports that 150 guests attended the ceremony in the Rainbow Room, situated on the 65th floor of the Rockefeller Center.

No photography was permitted and guests were prevented from bringing cameras or mobile phones to the event.ADNFCR-1121-ID-18521934-ADNFCR
