Masterchef presenter to host Archant London Food and Drink awards
Presenter of the BBC's Masterchef, Greg Wallace, has been chosen as the host of this year's Archant London Food and Drink awards, the Bexley Times reports.
Now in its sixth year, the awards provide an opportunity to recognize talent in the industry and the vast array of cuisines that are available in London, Essex and Kent.
The event will be held at the Landmark Hotel, Marylebone, on July 12th.
This year will see the addition of one new category with members of the public being able to vote for their Best Takeaway.
There will be 16 categories in total and the restaurant which receives the most votes will be recognized as the winner.
Any restaurant wanting to enter would have to do so by 27th February and each local winner can then enter the competition for the overall regional winner which will be announced at the July 12th event.
Last year's event saw 350 restaurateurs attend the awards which were hosted by chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.
