Sarkozy's former wife to remarry
Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz, the former wife of French president Nicolas Sarkozy, is about to marry her new partner, just five months after her high-profile divorce.
Versace, which will dress the wedding party, announced last week that the former fashion model is tying the knot with event planner Richard Attias in New York on 22nd March.
The pair had a very public affair in 2005, but Ms Ciganer-Albeniz returned to her husband in May last year to aid his successful presidential campaign.
Since splitting in October, Mr Sarkozy has himself already remarried, after a whirlwind romance with Italian model and singer Carla Bruni.
The 40-year-old former supermodel is 13 years the president's junior and his behaviour during their courtship is widely attributed to a sharp drop in his approval ratings.
In a bid to patch up public relations, Mr Sarkozy gave a candid interview with French newspaper Le Figaro in which he admitted mistakes.
The stunt backfired, much to the amusement of the public, when the article was published alongside an advert for Versace, the very label that will dress his ex-wife at her new wedding.
