Silent disco ahead of Festival Awards ceremony

Festival organisers are holding a special silent disco event marking the launch of the UK Festival Awards.

Headphone Disco and Virtual Festivals are holding the special event at Islington Academy in London on Friday, September 26th.

This is the same day that fans will be able to vote for their favourite bands in the Festival Awards.

A range of DJs will be playing some of the summer's best festival tunes, including those from Foals to Fink, Motorhead and Babyhead, virtualfestivals.com reports.

The silent events have become increasingly popular over the past few festival seasons, with an increasing number of venues hosting them.

Voting for the Festival Awards will take place at a London venue with a swanky ceremony on October 30th and some of the stars of the festivals, including Reading, Leeds, Glastonbury and V, are set to attend.

Those who vote could be in for a chance to win a Dream Summer ticket to every festival that wins an award next summer.
