Simpson ties knot with Fall Out Boy Wentz

Ashlee Simpson has married fiance Pete Wentz in a private ceremony in California, it has been confirmed.

The pair have been dating since autumn 2006 and revealed their engagement last month, amid repeated pregnancy rumours.

People magazine reports that 23-year-old Simpson tied the knot with Fall Out Boy's bassist Wentz - five years her senior - at her parent's home in the sunshine state.

Around 150 guests are believed to have attended the wedding ceremony, which was officiated by the singer's father Joe Simpson and attended by Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

A spokesperson for the couple told the People: "We are delighted to confirm that Pete and Ashlee were married in front of family and close friends."

Wentz's English Bulldog Hemingway is reported to have acted as the ringbearer, while Ashlee's sister Jessica was the maid of honour.

Following the wedding, the pair then threw a reception party themed in the style of Alice in Wonderland, including a cake replete with a top hat, stop watch and tea pot.

According to some media reports, Ashlee announced to wedding guests at the reception that she is expecting the couple's first child.
