Three stag nights for Gareth Gates

Former Pop Idol star Gareth Gates and his new fiance have started making preparations for the hen night and stag dos, according to reports.

The 23-year-old proposed to Suzanne Mole, his 32-year-old girlfriend, earlier this month and the pair are planning to tie the knot later this year.

But Gareth, who lost out to Will Young in the first Pop Idol series, has laid down some ground rules for his other half.

He told OK! Magazine: "I don't want to see pictures of her with a big learner sign!"

Gareth has less to worry about, however, as dancer Suzanne has opted for a holiday with the girls to the US instead of a wild hen night.

She told the magazine: "Gareth's mum and sister have come up with an idea of going to New York for a girlie trip away."

But Gareth is not taking his own advice and planning a wild time with his guy friends.

He said: "I think I'm going to have three stag dos. A civilised one, which my dad and Suzanne's dad will come to, one for my mates up north, which won't be too expensive.

"And then I'll have another for the elite few who can splash out a bit more. Will there be strip joints? We'll have to wait and see!"
