The majority of employees were not excited about their office Christmas party this year, according to a new survey.
Research by Fresh Tracks revealed that, while eight out of ten companies are planning a corporate event of some kind this year, just 46 per cent of employee respondents said they were looking forward to it.
Around 53 per cent said they were indifferent about it or felt they would just have to grin and bear it.
Dan Collins, director of Fresh Tracks, said: "These are not great results when considering that companies often make a significant investment in both time and money in organising such an event.
"In our opinion, to see increased benefits in the workplace listen to your staff and colleagues, be bold try an alternative Christmas event, you may be pleasantly surprised with the results."
The study revealed that most popular alternative Christmas events were wine or champagne tasting, a cooking course or Christmas treasure hunt.
