Birmingham must make itself more friendly to coach drivers if it is to thrive as a corporate event venue centre.
Local travel company Silverline Travel Services claims there are not enough coach pick-up points in the city centre, the Birmingham Post reports.
Drivers believe they are also becoming the victims of ticket-happy traffic wardens and this could put corporate event organisers off holding their events in the Midlands city.
Now Silverline Travel Services, which transported many delegates during the Tory Party Conference in Birmingham, has launched a campaign to urge Birmingham City Council to bring in more pick-up points.
Silverline Travel Services chairman and managing director Malcolm Breakwell told the Birmingham Post: "People attending conferences, seminars and corporate events in the business district are being forced to traipse long distances in all weathers to their waiting coaches.
"It's madness. There is just one pick-up point in the Square Mile. How can the city hope to attract business events when delegates may have to walk up to a mile in all weathers just to board their coach?"
