Journalists mingled with royalty during a glitzy awards night last month, according to reports.
Qatar Airways sponsored the annual UK-based Foreign Press Association Awards at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel.
Prince Charles was the guest of honour at the sparkling ceremony which was attended by more than 400 guests.
Among those attending were journalists, ambassadors, politicians and business leaders.
Prince Charles gave the keynote speech at the corporate event focussing on the state of the natural world and pleading for the media to help save the environment.
He said: "The present crisis in the financial world, known to us all as the credit crunch, is but one recent graphic example; the environmental crisis that confronts us and is, in fact, a climate crunch, is another."
Winners of the Foreign Press Association Media Awards 2008 included Bloomberg News for financial story of the year for The Insurance Hoax and Channel 4 News for TV news story of the year for its production on "Somalia".
