Corporate events food supplier gears towards expansion

The Authentic Food Company (AFC) has invested £1 million in a storage and logistics base as part of its plans to facilitate business growth, it has been reported.

According to the Manchester Evening News, as well as opening a new site in Cheadle, AFC has also improved its IT infrastructure, hired more staff and broadened its product range.

AFC supplies food - including Indian, oriental, Tex-Mex, Mediterranean and British variants - to pubs, restaurants and hotels in the UK and Europe in addition to catering for weddings and corporate events.

"We are expanding at a rapid pace, not only in terms of revenue but also diversity of product range and people," purchasing and supply chain manager Justin Sanderson told the newspaper.

"We witnessed a strong start to the financial year and looked at areas that needed further investment and support. Among these was the requirement for storage of packaging products and ambient goods."

While the firm originally focussed on Chinese cuisine, it now provides a number of Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese and Japanese dishes, and its Indian selection has been extended.
