One in three office workers is not looking forward to their annual Christmas party and is in fact dreading it, according to a new survey.
A study carried out by The British Greyhound Racing Board found that a third of employees hate their Christmas do.
Many are haunted with terrifying memories of photocopying backsides, inappropriate comments and drunkenness when thinking about their past Christmas corporate events.
But worryingly, 70 per cent of respondents said they did not want to go to their Christmas party because they did not want to hang out with their colleagues in a social context.
Behavioural psychologist Jo Hemmings said: "While we can choose our friends to party and socialise with - we cannot choose our work colleagues.
"While most people like to let their hair down and enjoy the fact that they are being treated to an event, they don't want to be out in a potentially embarrassing or dull situation with colleagues, with the only common thread being work itself."
But having a great Christmas party could increase the chances of you finding love or making lots of new friends.
