This weekend sees the World Corporate Games hit the city of Leeds, with a packed programme of sporting events for the 5,000 participating athletes.
The four-day event features more than 20 sports, from tenpin bowling to dragonboat racing, with everything else in between, including rugby and volleyball.
Locals businesses and organisations, such as Yorkshire Forward, Leeds City Council, the West Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Post will be sending athletes to compete against entrants from firms around the world.
The banking groups HBOS and Yorkshire Bank, accountancy firms PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte and Baker Tilly, as well as law firms DLA Piper and Addleshaw Goddard will also be sending local employees.
The World Corporate Games has not been hosted in England since 1992 and local participants are understandably excited.
"We're thrilled that Leeds is the host for this year's Corporate Games and have employees competing in a whole range of sports," Yorkshire Bank operations manager Glenn King told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
"The games give us the opportunity to connect with other businesses in a fun, informal environment and show once again that Leeds is an international destination," added the banker, who will be playing tennis for his firm.
The first rounds of the more popular sports will be hosted by venues including the University of Leeds, Leeds Metropolitan University, Oulton Hall Golf Course, Roundhay Park and the John Charles Centre for Sport.
