A customisable fortune teller made from paper folded into segments has been launched by the 'pop-ups' specialist Whitney Woods due to popular demand.
After a series of requests over the years, the mailing house has finally yielded and made the 'fun folds' product, which can serve as a flyer or invitation to a corporate event.
The design is straight from the playground, with four triangular sections that can be shifted back, forth and sideways using fingers and thumbs inserted underneath.
The person having their fortune told (or being insulted) usually chooses a number or colour before being read their chosen message from the fortunes concealed on the underside of the paper.
According to Whitney Woods marketing manager Helen Mihill, the company had not gone ahead with the product before "as it seemed not to fit in with our range of pop-ups and interactive mailers".
"But our clients have been more persistent and so we have designed a custom printed product which has a combination of creases and perforations to make the folding pattern relatively easy," she continued.
Companies requesting the design ranged from trade shows wanting to distribute them as flyers and firms wanting them as an invitation to a corporate event, among other interactive marketing methods.
"Our research shows that agencies have been coming up with ideas for the product as an interactive marketing piece to hand out at exhibitions and conferences," Ms Mihill added.
Measuring 21 x 21 cm, the paper can be provided flat with instructions, or ready folded.
