Corporate event with theatrical bent

An unusual new corporate event idea is due to debut in Liverpool this week.

Pioneered by the same organisers that stage the ghost tour Shiverpool, the new attraction leads participants on an eerie theatrical journey through the streets of Auld City.

The new ghost tour is aimed at both tourists and locals, including firms looking to stage team building exercises or a corporate event with a twist.

The route takes in sites singled out for their potential scare factor, such as the Slaughterhouse pub on Fenwick Street, the town hall and the area around St Nick's church.

Crosby-born brother and sister John and Alex Stone founded Shiverpool three years ago in the Georgian Quarter of this year's European Capital of Culture.

Growing from the original Hope Street base, the operation now has a pool of 20 actors and has attracted 30,000 participants to date.

"There’s been massive interest in local people wanting to experience the tourist destinations in their own city," Mr Stone told the Liverpool Daily Post.

"People are looking to do something different and there is a demand for that - so we always wanted to look at other areas of the city to develop new tours from the outset."

Two mysterious assistants lead the tour around the route, as creepy characters emerge when least expected.

"People do really get scared," Mr Stone added. "By the end of the tour, feel they've been on a journey together."

The pair's latest route leads participants through the streets of Liverpool's business district, making it a fitting setting for a corporate event.ADNFCR-1121-ID-18592458-ADNFCR
