Wedding revellers have been urged to remember to secure travel insurance before embarking on stag and hen dos overseas.
Figures from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) show a marked rise in the number of pre-marriage parties taking place abroad.
And heading to more exotic climes can be an attractive proposition for British partygoers, with cheaper drinks and better weather two of the most common lures.
Fair Investment points out that with suitable travel insurance cover, revellers can protect themselves against the costs associated with illnesses, injuries, arrests or theft.
"Many stag and hen parties abroad take place over a weekend and when it is such a short period of time it is easy to think of travel insurance as unnecessary," said Fair Investment director James Caldwell.
"However, the likelihood is that there will be an increased intake of alcohol involved... meaning the chance of accidents and illnesses is increased."
FCO data shows that Spain, France and the Netherlands are among the most popular destinations for a stag or hen party.
