96-year-old Scot to tie the knot

In proof that it's never too late for love, a 96-year-old man from Scotland is planning to tie the knot, the BBC has reported.

Bill Rodgers will marry his 74-year-old girlfriend Liz Stewart next weekend at his home near Perth.

Bill will be one of the oldest men in Britain to have tied the knot. The big day comes after nearly ten years of dating.

He told BBC Scotland: "I had three life-threatening illnesses, with which she was with me all the time, so I felt I owed her a bit more than just being my bidie-in (live-in partner)."

The loved-up couple have grown extremely close after sharing their love of St Johnstone FC.
