Corporate events still 'vital'

The panoramic dining room atop London's iconic Gherkin building played host to a unique corporate function last month, attended by a plethora of influential event organisers.

Organised by londonlaunch.com and easyFairs, the corporate event at 30 St Mary Axe brought together an leading group of events industry experts to canvas opinion on future trends.

Diners at the exclusive gathering concluded that the capital's events industry was in rude health, notwithstanding the widely-publicised credit crunch.

The attendants agreed that corporate events remained vital for successful businesses, providing marketing opportunities, staff motivation and client entertainment.

It was established that organisers should strive to stage unique and impressive events that would help retain key clients, which deliver better return on investment than a higher volume of low-key parties.

Speakers at the londonlaunch luncheon also revealed that companies were becoming more aware of ways to make events more environmentally friendly.

Green issues now have a greater bearing on the choice of venue. Companies staging corporate parties were said to be more likely to consider restaurants, clubs and private hire firms that could demonstrate credible environmental policies.

Reducing carbon emissions is high on the agenda of larger international firms staging corporate events around the world.ADNFCR-1121-ID-18536916-ADNFCR
