Dirty Dancing wedding gets UK couple on Oprah
A British couple who went the extra mile and performed the iconic dance routine from Dirty Dancing at their wedding are to appear on a US talk show.
James Derbyshire and Julia Boggio will perform the classic dance on the Oprah Winfrey show alongside Patrick Swayze, who made the dance his own in the hit 1980s film.
The couple got married two years ago and their wedding dance was such a hit that it was put on YouTube and received more than 2.5 million hits.
The show has been filmed already but is to be shown in the US this week. But dancing with Swayze came as a surprise to the loved-up couple.
James told icWales: "We chatted for a while (with Oprah) and then they said they wanted to see the dance.
"We were halfway through when the audience started screaming. Julia stopped dancing and was frozen in my arms. I felt a tap on the shoulder and Patrick Swayze asked if he could cut in."
He added: "He said he loved what we had done and wanted to meet us. He's a fabulous bloke and is so nice."
