New range of haggis catering products launched
Haggis manufacturer Macsween, based in Edinburgh, will be launching a new line of products from September.
Following 18 months of planning and talks with customers, the company will offer vegetarian haggis and traditional haggis, as well as black pudding. Uniform sizing of 1.36kg will be a key aspect of the new packs to make everything easier to use, while the company will also provide recipe ideas for use at corporate events.
Jo Macsween, director, said: "Our research has shown us that there are many opportunities for branded, quality products such as Macsween haggis, which can bring an extra dimension to the catering offer."
Scottish catering is set to do bumper business over the next 18 months as next year marks both the 250th anniversary of the birth of poet Robert Burns, and 25 years since Macsween first produced a vegetarian haggis.
With both private parties and corporate events expected to sweep the nation, Macsween is looking to maximise its customer base.
