Stag parties becoming more ambitious

Grooms to be in the UK are becoming increasingly ambitious with their stag party plans, according to one industry expert.

Anna Makin Made, project manager at the firm Designaventure, reports that many men are uninspired by traditional pre-wedding pursuits such as partying and paintballing.

Instead, more unorthodox activities are becoming the mainstay of stag celebrations, she explained.

Many men are now taking trips overseas to stage more adventurous stag parties, jetting off to fire machine guns at special firing ranges, bob sleighing, or even watching lesbian mud wrestling.

"If they go abroad they usually want to do something a bit different," said the Designaventure expert.

Ms Made noted that a particular shooting centre in Prague that offers guests the chance to handle AK-47s was proving "really popular".

"It's something a bit different isn't it? You don't get to shoot a machine gun every day," she added.

A survey several years ago by Morgan Stanley revealed that as much as six times more is spent on the average stag do than the typical hen party.

Whereas an average bride budgeted in the region of just £62 at the time of the survey, the mean stag weekend was estimated to cost £365, plus at least £112 to cover additional expenses such as catering.ADNFCR-1121-ID-18636642-ADNFCR
