As the UK's bad weather shows no signs of letting up in September, brides and grooms are being encouraged to choose a wedding venue which will not be ruined by downpours.
An expert from Wedding Ideas magazine said that brides-to-be should not let the weather ruin their day by being miserable about it as it is the only thing they cannot control.
Rachel Moschke, the magazine's editor, said brides and grooms can get a trendy pair of wellies to go with their outfits to make light of the situation.
She added couples should choose a wedding venue with an interesting indoor backdrop and devise a wet-weather plan with the event photographer.
Venues with beautiful staircases or walls can make a beautiful backdrop to the group photos should it be raining outside.
Ms Moschke added: "First and foremost, you should remember that the wedding is about making a lifelong commitment to the one you love, not the weather."
She also said that it rarely rains throughout a whole day and wedding parties should keep a lookout and make use of the sunny spells.
