History buffs from Essex tied the knot in a medieval ceremony last month, according to local media reports.
Pamela Blanden, 44, and Russell Bennett, 38, both shared an interest in medieval history and decided that their nuptials would not be complete without them paying homage to the period.
They decided to ditch the traditional bride and groom outfits for medieval attire, the Echo reports.
And guests did not get away scot-free either as they also had to don medieval dress for the wedding at Southchurch Hall.
The venue was also decked out in medieval decorations and staff also dressed up for the event.
The lucky couple sat on special medieval thrones at the reception and enjoyed Tudor portraits that had been created by friends and family.
Pamela told the newspaper: "We went to a Tudor day at Southchurch Hall and loved it. We wanted to do something unusual, not an everyday wedding, and spent 18 months getting everything ready."
