History buffs tie the knot in medieval style

A couple from South Wales had their dream wedding come true when they hosted a medieval-themed ceremony, a local newspaper reports.

Newlyweds Graham and Angie Jenkins had hoped to have a medieval banquet for their wedding reception, but when plans fell through, their relatives decided to take it into their own hands to plan the big day.

Around 70 friends and loved ones descended on Graham's brother's house dressed in medieval costumes to celebrate the nuptials in style, the South Wales Argus reports.

Graham's sister-in-law Alison went to great lengths to decorate the house in a medieval style and even designed a medieval wedding cake.

She told the newspaper: "[The newlyweds] are interested in history and always thought they would have a do like that.

"But they couldn't get the date they wanted for a medieval banquet. So we brought them here."
