Northumberland registration service has published a guide to weddings in the area, in order to help budding couples find the perfect spot for their big day.
Promoting the county as a premier wedding destination, the guide features a DVD replete with tips for brides and grooms on how to fully personalise their nuptials.
The video outlines the importance of choosing a suitable venue, organising reliable suppliers and shows couples what to expect in the build-up to their marriage.
With plenty of examples and ideas to help prospective spouses, the guide recommends a number of hot spots and notable suppliers in Northumberland, showing why the region is one of the favourite destinations in the country.
Registrar Louise Fraser told the News Post Leader that Northumberland "has some of the most spectacular scenery and outstanding venues in the county, having been awarded the best county, not to mention the great hospitality".
She continued: "Gone are the days when a civil wedding meant a quick, impersonal and simple ceremony. Northumberland registration service strives to ensure that it is the couple's most important day of their lives.
"The DVD also encourages the couple to personalise their ceremonies if they wish, with their own choices of readings, music and the opportunity to write their own wedding vows."
Due to be distributed nationally, the multimedia guide will also be given to any couples that elect to book their big day in the north-east.
