Stags love Edinburgh for last night of freedom
Edinburgh is the best place to have a stag do, according to a new survey.
Research by events company Stag Night Out found that grooms-to-be are opting for the Scottish location over traditional nights out in Newquay and Brighton.
The Scottish city was closely followed by Leeds in the research, which came as a surprise to the company.
Robert Goodliffe, director of Stag Nights Out, said: "Our Stag Party bookings are increasingly heading to the likes of Prague and Bratislava but many also choose our stag packages across the UK, which is why we wanted to know which was the most popular stag do venue."
The study also found that northern cities Blackpool and Liverpool were also favourites for parties.
Another survey undertaken by Expedia.co.uk this week found that many Britons are choosing to go abroad to celebrate such landmark rites of passage.
Amsterdam was found to be the most popular location for stag do's and hen nights, while Venice was the top place in which to celebrate a wedding anniversary.
